An I6 is good for more because it's an inherently balanced engine, whereas a V6 cannot be completely balanced (so you have extra rotating weights, heavier flywheel, and it'll still never rev as smoothly or quickly). Intake manifold length isn't related at all. And longer manifolds wouldn't be better; they'd tend to give you some harmonic increases on the lower end (for more torque) at the cost of some power up high.
